I am Josep Carrion, and I want to teach you and guide you through thuis five-step method, based on the observation of Nature in ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine and supported nowadays by scientific research, with the aim of enjoying life more. Your body, your mind and your environment are related. I wait for you here, in Basel.

Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine and supported by current research. I believe in treating the whole person together, and it is the only method that also includes the ecological aspect.

It is a serious and committed job that you will do, with my guidance and support to help you achieve your goals of integrative health (body, mind and environment). You will learn a method for yourself and for use with others if you wish (health, relationships, or even in the business area). People who learn and treat themselves with Integrative Traditional Chinese  Medicine learn to relate any physical health problem to their emotional or mental state and also to their environment. This is how it was done in China 2500 years ago. “May your body and your vital soul be united in an embrace without separation.” Lao- Tze. Also today we know from research in psychology and psycho-neuroimmunology that body-mind/emotions-context (relationships, work, etc.) affect each other.

People who follow a cycle with Integrative Traditional Chinese  Medicine learn to use their strengths and weaknesses, and know what they need and what they can do to improve their areas of satisfaction or discomfort.

Characteristics of the method.

The brain is designed to focus on and reinforce the negative aspects of our existence. We must therefore have more impact on developing positivity, being realistic and being ourselves.

Our brain rejects situations and people very different from it. When we promote the less developed aspects of ourselves, we indirectly integrate those people, characters and situations that were previously uncomfortable for us.

The method is adapted to each personality according to Traditional Chinese Medicine, Taoism and also research in neurophysiology. The approach of the method is positivist, using your strengths above all else, and knowing how and when and why to develop your discomfort zone.

Why the name Integrative Traditional Chinese Medicine?

Because it really integrates physical body, emotions, mind and context; it also integrates tradition and science. It is my intention to have a name or brand for the method, but for the moment I think it conveys what I do and teach.

How do I know if this method is for me right now?

This method adapts to your personality, it is positivist, it is logical, it helps you to feel and act more effectively. All together. How does it work in practice, and what will I find if I decide to follow the method?

We dedicate 70% of the session to speaking, and 30% of the session to physical work. We define the first day according to your objectives.

  1. The first step is to define the objective to be addressed and how to evaluate the results. Physical health, from problems considered serious or incurable, or simple annoyances, addictions. Emotional management, communication, family relations. Objectives of professional or vocational life. Indefinition or lack of motivation, excessive impulsivity. We can deal with all the problems together.
  2. The second step is to understand where the solution lies, according to Chinese Medicine, and supported by research in neuroscience and positive psychology. We will explain the method to you and if you have an urgent physical problem, we can do this at the same time as we treat you or do it the next day when you are better.
  3. In the third step you will understand the path to follow to resolve your present or future health goals or situation. You’ll start walking that way.
  4. In the fourth step, you will check the results as objectively as possible with respect to the starting point.
  5. In the fifth step, you will integrate all that you have learned, to live from positivity, recognizing your talents and those of others, being able to enjoy your life more and helping to create a positive environment.

How much time should I spend on each of these steps?

First session: Step One. Determine objectives and plan. Physical treatment if necessary.

Second session: It is recommended to allow no more than 3 weeks after the first visit.  Step two. Basis of the method. Physical treatment if necessary.

Third session: Beginning of the third step. How to achieve health goals or improve areas of discomfort. Weekly sessions. This is the main development of the method.

The fourth and fifth steps are done as a final integration of the method, in a final session.

Can I trust you? Faith.I like this method, but who are you? How can I trust you with this work?

In the method you are not induced, but guided to discover quickly by yourself. The work is totally logical, and what you feel is what you feel and we look for a positive job so that it prevails over what we find most difficult to see. It’s true, there are emotions and memories we need to accept, if they’re blocking us. First you’ll learn the tools to do this, and then you’ll start working at your own pace. I have attended personal growth therapies and led groups for over 15 years. My recognized qualifications have trained me to know how to accompany you in all these processes. Can you treat any kind of physical problems?

Everything can be treated to seek an improvement or cure if possible.

What I have treated the most in these more than 25 years are: muscular problems, stroke or paralysis, cancer patients (improvement of the brain function, etc.), sport injuries, infertility, smoking or alcoholism, stress, anxiety, depression, neuralgia, sciatica, knee or hip arthrosis.

What techniques do you use to treat physical problems?

The physical treatments may consist of: massages, cupping, herbs, mindfulness, neuro-feedback, stimulation of acupuncture points, cranio-sacral therapy, auricular therapy.

Is this a very intense job? How can it be?

The intensity of the process of improvement marks life with its crises, and you decide for yourself how much you decide to risk to improve.  If we knew that our life was coming to an end, we would probably not choose to work on the areas of discomfort or what costs us more, but we would want to enjoy life more, in the simplest way possible. However, if we knew that we had many years ahead of us (perhaps you once thought as I did: “If I was born again I would do many things differently knowing what I know now”), we would learn, we would change some things, and we would improve others.

This is my middle point: “Work personally as if you had a whole life ahead of you, but don’t have such a hard time in the process, that if you had only a few months left you would have stopped enjoying them. “

Cost per session of coaching in BaselIs this method covered by a mutual insurance company?

Some insurance companies cover my TCM treatment, but you must find out about it first. The part that will be covered will be Chinese Medicine specifically, so we will have to discuss it in the first planning session. Generally at least 70% of the session will be covered.

What investment do I have to make to follow this process?

The investment of time is 90 Minutes per week in consultation, which according to the objective and the person, will require more or less sessions. The people who came for the least consultation had enough with three sessions to see clearly what they needed to do and get started. The people who were in consultation for the longest period of time, carrying out an in-depth process, spent two years weekly, before individualizing the method for each typology. Currently the maximum with this method is about five months.

Cost-effectiveness: the standard cost of a session/body therapy in Switzerland is 150 francs an hour. The cost of an emotional work session or coaching session is at least 150 francs an hour, up to 300 francs an hour. The treatment, which is usually done separately from the body and mind, causes relapses and new future investments, which we will save in this way. We also save time by attending different sessions, in different places, or at different times in our lives. In 90 minutes per week, we can treat everything and avoid relapses, being more independent in the medium term than with other methods. Profitability lies in medium and long term savings, in treatments, personal coaching, physiotherapy, travel. Both economic and in time and energy invested.
